Bt calls for honesty

The UK’s largest broadband supplier, BT, is calling for other broadband advertisers to give an average broadband speed instead of hyping up their ads with “you can get up to 5 mega byte broadband”. This call was given after independent surveys found that only 15% of customers who signed up to the companies that give up to 8mb actually got the 8mb. BT has requested that regulators draw up guidelines on how broadband should be marketed. This near false advertising has also triggered watchdog to enter into the debate and they are currently investigating BT’s claims of problematic advertising.
